About
I’m an Associate Professor in International Social and Public Policy in the Department for Social Policy at the London School of Economics (LSE). I obtained my Ph.D. in Sociology from the Graduate School for Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim in 2014. Before coming to LSE in 2017 I held a position as post-doctoral researcher at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. I am also a visiting research fellow at Tallinn University.
My main research interests are in the fields of comparative social policy and social inequality, combined with a strong interest in research methods and research design. Specifically, I look at social protection and labour market policies, the conditionality of policy impact, and how they shape social inequalities and cumulative (dis-advantages) in employment and related social outcomes. PDFs and replication materials for several of my studies can be accessed from the publications tab. In case such materials are still missing for a study you are interested in, please get in touch and I will be happy to provide you with what I can.
Since being a PhD student in Mannheim I have taught several courses in Social Policy, Sociology, and Research Methods both at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. This academic year I convene and teach on SP401 Understanding Policy Research and SP442 The Future of Work and Social Policy. You can find a full list of the courses I taught over the years in my CV.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you want to talk about any of your or my research or teaching.
